About :

Vijay Sindhur’s art of contemplation takes you into a realm of sacred experience. It is inspired by the rich folklore of the Veergase Tradition of his native Jamkhandi, once part of the mighty Chalukya Empire in Karnataka. Devotees of Veerabhadra, son of Lord Shiva. The Veergase attach great importance to Bhakti (Devotion); Jnana (Knowledge) and Kriya (Action). All three are considered as pathways to salvation. In their aura of crimson, gold, earth green and purple garments and ash-smeared faces, Sindhur discovers a universe of myth and wonder. His creative vision gives his enviromental art a narrative power full of symbolism and metaphor. It helps him transcend the boundaries of space-time to arrive at an abstract dimension beyoud duality. An alumnus of Abhinav and the J.J. School of Art, Sindhur’s work has a deeply meditative quality. The blessings of his Gurus like Hebbar, Palsikar, Almelkar and Sadwelkar shines in his creations. Trained in classical music, Sindhur achieves a harmony with his layered palette with which he explores the triune nature of cosmic reality. It is an ascetic vision which glows from within with the light of the mystic. To see it is to gain the insight and intuition of the truly enlightened.- C.S. Nag Writer / Filmmaker.
